What We Check Before a Tool Goes Live

Every listing starts with a basic quality screen:

  • The product must be live and reachable.
  • The tool must fit a real AI use case and an active directory category.
  • The page needs enough public information to write a useful profile.
  • Pricing and positioning must be clear enough to compare against similar tools.

If a submission does not meet those standards yet, we hold it back until the listing can be useful for buyers.

How We Review Listings

AIToolIndex is built as a decision-support directory, so we focus on information that helps a visitor choose a tool:

  • Core use case and category fit
  • Pricing model and available tiers
  • Feature set, limitations, and platform coverage
  • Related comparisons, alternatives, and calculators where relevant
  • Signals that help us keep the page current over time

We do not treat vendor marketing copy as a finished review. Listings are normalized so buyers can compare tools more quickly.

How Freshness Works

Tool coverage changes constantly, so we keep a public Latest Updates feed and refresh pages as inputs change.

Typical refresh triggers include:

  • Pricing changes
  • Product positioning changes
  • New comparison coverage
  • Benchmark updates
  • Help-center and editorial updates tied to the category

Not every update is large enough to require a full rewrite, but important pricing and evaluation changes should be reflected on the page.

What the Verified Badge Means

Verified does not mean a universal endorsement. It means the editorial workflow has confirmed key listing details such as:

  • The product and company are live
  • Core product facts on the listing are accurate to the best of our review process
  • The page meets a higher bar for completeness and maintenance

Some strong tools may appear without the badge if they have not yet gone through that deeper pass.

AIToolIndex uses editorial pick language on public pages to surface tools we believe are strong starting points for a category or workflow.

Featured placement requests are handled separately and do not replace the underlying review standards for a listing.

Corrections and Feedback

If you spot outdated information, use the Contact page or Submit page to send corrections. Fresh data is more useful than inflated coverage.
